If you’re on the hunt for some fantastic local eats around Valley Park, Twin Oaks, and Ballwin, MO, I’ve got a few favorites that you absolutely need to check out. Whether you’re grabbing a quick lunch or settling in for a cozy dinner, these spots serve up delicious, made-to-order food fast enough to fit into your busy day.

Carretta’s – Ballwin, MO
If you’re craving Tex-Mex with a touch of sophistication, Carretta’s is the place to be. Located at 1332-1366 Big Bend Road, this spot nails the perfect balance between bold flavors, quick service, and a picture-worthy atmosphere. Our family always gets the Traditional Tacos and the Nachos. Chips and salsa can make or break your meal, and Carretta's gets it right every time. It’s great for a lunch break or a relaxed dinner when you want something a little special.

Young’s – Valley Park, MO
Young’s is that cozy, comforting spot you’ll want to visit year-round. In the winter, their comfort food hits the spot, and when the weather warms up, their delicious ice cream is the perfect treat. You’ll find them at 206 Meramec Station Road, and trust me, it’s worth the trip whether you’re hungry for a hearty meal or a sweet dessert. My recommendation is their cookie dough in a concrete. It's a step up from the little cookie dough pellets you expect from other ice cream and custard places around town. Note: They are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Duck-In Market – Valley Park, MO
For a taste of New Orleans right here in Missouri, Duck-In Market is a must-try. Their Cajun-inspired dishes pack a flavorful punch, and they also offer a rotating menu of prepped meals if you’re looking for something quick and tasty. Go on Friday for a Catfish Po-boy or grab a perfectly cooked burger any day of the week. You can't go wrong with the fries, red beans & rice, and gumbo. Really, it's all worth trying; you're sure to find a favorite! Check them out at 324 St Louis Avenue. Note: They are not open for dinner, lunch on weekdays only.

Lazy River Grill – Manchester, MO
If fish is what you’re craving, Lazy River Grill has you covered. With a rustic vibe surrounded by camping, fishing, and hunting memorabilia, it’s a great spot to unwind and enjoy a meal that feels like a mini getaway. I recommend the Walleye Sandwich, and their Famous Buffalo Wings are the best around! You’ll find them at 631 Big Bend Road.

All these restaurants serve up fresh, made-to-order food fast enough to fit into your lunch break or a casual dinner. Supporting local businesses like these not only fills your belly but also helps keep our community vibrant and thriving.

Next time you’re in the neighborhood, give one of these spots a try. You won’t be disappointed!
