Creve Coeur Lake

For those days when you want to get out in nature, but don't want muddy shoes.

Powder Valley Nature Center

If you're looking for a mix of challenging or sedate paths, Powder Valley's three trails run the gamut. Near the Nature Center is the one-third mile flat and accessible Tanglevine Trail. The Hickory Ridge Trail takes you down to the creek that runs along the valley, past scenic overlooks. You'll get a workout making your way back up the hill!
*Note: no pets are allowed.

Creve Coeur Memorial Park

Walking and biking the trails are just a few of the activities available at Creve Coeur Lake. Four of the five trails are paved, with connections to the Katy Trail as well. The 3.8-mile Lakeview Loop offers beautiful views of the namesake 320-acre lake, then taking you under the towering Page extension bridge. You can make a day of it: paddleboarding or kayaking, fishing or enjoying the beach.

Brentwood Park

There's a lot to love about the newest destination park in Brentwood. If you're not playing on the massive playground or splashing in the Shady Grove Creek-replica water fountain, then maybe you'd like to walk around the pond nearby. This paved path also connects with the Deer Creek Greenway.

Simpson Park

Continuing the theme of paved trails around lakes, this park in the Meramec River valley has a network of winding paths. One takes you partway around the 72-acre Simpson Lake, where you can also paddleboard, kayak, or boat (electric motors only). Across Marshall Road, the trail takes you along the Meramec River and eventually connects with the Meramec Greenway and Greentree Park. Perfect for hot summer days, most of the paths are well-shaded and near cool water.

Des Peres Park

If you're looking for a quick walk, the trails in Des Peres Park are all one-mile or shorter. You can meander around and over the stocked lake, or stroll around the entire park, taking in the tennis courts and new playground. You might even see one of the adorable spotted Guinea Fowl!
